The future of AI hinges on access to high-quality, diverse data — much of which is locked away in tough-to-parse formats like PDFs. We set out to change that by building the document intelligence platform we believe the world needs: one that doesn't require a tradeoff between quality, transparency, and security.
What began as an open-source passion project — Marker, then Surya, and now Chandra — has been adopted by hundreds of teams and researchers at leading institutions like Anthropic, Harvard, Stanford, and MIT.
We're backed by founding members of OpenAI, FAIR, and Huggingface, and are building from our office in Manhattan, NY.
